Crawley Town confirm how many positive Covid-19 tests they had - and squad are clear to return to training

Crawley Town Football Club can confirm that a total of five players and one member of staff have tested positive for COVID-19 - following an additional two rounds of testing this past weekend.

Having conducted upwards of 220 tests over the week of the 18th January, the latest round of testing highlighted six positives with the remaining members of the squad and playing staff all testing negative, meaning the Reds are clear to return to training this morning as well as contesting competitive matches - including Tuesday's FA Cup 4th round tie at AFC Bournemouth.

Players, as well as playing and operational staff members, will continue to obey strict guidelines which have been put in place at both our training ground and at The People's Pension Stadium, to protect both the individuals themselves, and those around them.

Following news of the outbreak being confirmed on Tuesday morning, the club worked quickly to ensure that both the training ground and The People's Pension Stadium were thoroughly deep cleaned and sanitised, thanks to 'Lets Sanitise It'. More information can be found by clicking here.

Twice-weekly EFL testing is now being conducted across the EFL after funding was provided by the PFA and will continue to be implemented for the foreseeable future.

The club would like to go on record in thanking Harry Brooke and the medical team for their swift and continually efficient handling of the COVID-19 pandemic within the club.
