Crawley Town head coach Drummy: 'My players' attitude impressed me'

Reds will face the winners of Brighton & Hove Albion v Eastbourne Borough which is due to be played in March, with the date of the final at the Amex to be confirmed.

On Tuesday night he made nine changes from the team which lost to Morecambe on Saturday and despite many of them not having had recent game-time, they beat Ryman Premier League leaders Bognor Regis Town 3-2 in the semi-final.

Played at the Sussex FA headquarters at Lancing on the 3G pitch, his side adapted well to the challenge of a different surface they do not usually play on.

On the way to the semi-final Crawley beat Langney Wanderers 3-1, Horsham YMCA 3-0 and Whitehawk 3-1.

Speaking at his press conference today he said he was impressed with the players' attitude and in every round of the competition.

He said: "I was happy, it's always nice to get to the Sussex Cup final.

"I think the boys have taken every game and put their attitude into winning the game and it's nice for them to actually get to a final, we'll look forward to that."

Drummy would not single out any individual performances as meriting praise, but liked the general attitude of the team in getting the job done.

"The attitude impressed me, they are trying to play on a nice surface, that impressed me."
