The Real EFL has reported that the Reds ‘attempted to convince’ Pools manager Keith Curle to allow the 25-year-old to leave Victoria Park before the January transfer deadline, with new Crawley boss Scott Lindsey reportedly a big fan of the Charlton Athletic academy graduate.

League One outfit Burton Albion and the Reds’ League Two rivals Gillingham were also reported to have made offers for Umerah, but the Hartlepool Mail understands those bids have been knocked back with the forward reporting for duty as normal at Pools’ Maiden Castle training base this morning.

Umerah has been in fine goalscoring form for Hartlepool this season. The former Wealdstone and Ebbsfleet United striker has netted 13 goals in 32 games in all competitions. His tally of ten League Two goals places him sixth in the list of the division’s top scorers in 2022/23.
