The club revealed yesterday that the Turkish consortium had paid a deposit for Crawley Town with the contracts expected to be exchanged within the next 24 hours.

The overseas group is thought to be led by Ziya Eren, who is the president of Turkish first division side Kayseri Erciyesspor.

Eren, a 47-year-old steel magnate, is hoping to develop links between the clubs and hopes a deal will be concluded by early next week.

Reports emerged this morning that, he has paid a hefty sum of 4 million for the Broadfield Stadium based club - whose home is owned by Crawley Borough Council.
