Crawley Town striker is 'unsure what’s going to happen in the future'

But in an Instagram post, the 6ft 5ins 29-year-old hinted at a departure from the People's Pension Stadium.

Palmer posted a picture of him and former Reds boss Harry Kewell and said: "The season came to an unprecedented end but that doesn’t change the fact I’ve had two memorable seasons with @officialcrawleytownfc. So many highs & a few lows but that’s football. From the start through to today the fans have been amazing & everyone around the football club have always been a pleasure to be with. With everything going on in the world right now, I’m unsure what’s going to happen in the future if I’m totally honest & that’s just the situation we’re all in! It’s been a privilege to play & share the changing room with my team mates! I hope every looks after themselves and stay safe ❤️"

Fans responded straight away.

freddie_marchant06 replied: "Please don’t leave", while tark_the_red said: "Hope you stay Ollie, you have been a great servant to the club but if not, we wish you well at your next club."

Crawley Town technical director Erdem Konyar also replied to the post and said: "Top man Ollie. Worked your socks off for us."

Palmer will always be remembered for scoring the winning penalty against Stoke City in the Carabao Cup.
