Crawley Town v Bradford City preview: Reds looking for another three points on home soil

It’ll be Crawley’s second home game in front of home fans with over double the amount that they had on Saturday against Barrow. It should be a great atmosphere under the lights and Crawley will be looking to get themselves another three points on home soil.

They face a Bradford side that have had a terrible start to the season and parted company with their manager Stuart McCall and assistant Kenny Black, following their defeat at Oldham Athletic last Saturday.

Despite the defeat Bradford moved out of the relegation zone on goal difference but it was the end of the road for McCall despite signing a new contract at the club just over a week before.

Academy coaches Mark Trueman and Conor Sellars will be in charge for their trip to Crawley, as they look to revive the Bantams who have been the surprise package for all the wrong reasons as they find themselves really struggling at the wrong end of the table.

They’ve lost their previous five games and not won any of their previous six league games. They also hold the worst away form in the division and have only picked up four points on the road this season and have scored just six away goals. It’s a record that needs to be turned around as their pre-season promotion hopes are rapidly going out the window.

As for Crawley they find themselves in a good patch of form with no loss in four games in all competitions.

It can’t have been easy for the Crawley squad without manager John Yems around due to personal issues, but the Reds have done well considering the circumstances, with a win and a draw while he has been absent. The Reds have been putting in good performances and they showed the good side they can be in Saturday’s 4-2 win over Barrow.

It was no surprise to see Max Watters grab a hat-trick as he continued his wonderful form since joining the Reds, making it 15 goals in 15 games. It was a good effort from the whole team with not only the starting eleven but also the subs came on and put in a good shift for the team. Lots of players are staking their claim for a place in the starting eleven and is keeping the competition for places very healthy.

If the Reds can pick up another win they will find themselves in touching distance with the play-off places and can start pushing for them once again.
