Crawley Town have stopped using their new training ground just a few weeks after it was opened.
The club announced in June it was basing its training activity at the Sikh Gurdwara and Community Sport Centre in Ifield Green, formally the site of Ifield Edwards FC.
One of the reasons for this was it was just ten minutes away from the Checkatrade Stadium, unlike their base last season which was at Ardingly College.
The club’s pitch was being prepared by consultants SJK ready for the start of pre-season training on June 30.
However Crawley are now having to use one of their previous training bases, Oakwood FC in Tinsley Lane, becuase of problems with the pitch at Ifield.
Speaking at the Fans’ Forum on Tuesday night head coach Dermot Drummy revealed they are using Oakwood because the grass has not taken at Ifield.
He said: “Unfortunately the pitches at the Sikh Temple could not cope with daily use.
“So we have reverted back to Oakwood and this will be the training base for the time being.”
