The former Plymouth Argyle, Derby County and Leeds United player, 30, arrives at the Broadfield on a short-term deal.

Connolly has played more than 100 games in the Football League and strengthens the full-back position, with James Hurst out on loan and centre back Mark Connolly currently filling in. He can also play at centre back.

Connolly has been playing in the Championship with Millwall this season, but Gregory swooped for the player when his contract expired last month.

It is the second new arrival in two days after striker Rory Fallon joined the club yesterday.
