Rumours were circulating on social media this afternoon (Thursday, June 19) that a deal had been done for the 27-year-old centre-back.

Some even pointed to an apparent video of McFadzean on MK Dons Player talking about the move which had been quickly taken down.

But speaking to the Crawley Observer at around 6.40pm McFadzean said of the claims: “That’s the first I’ve heard about it.

“I’ve only just this second got back from holiday, I’m on my way back from the airport so I don’t know what they are on about.

“I’ve not even spoken to my agent to be honest. It’s utter rubbish.”

Sheffield-born McFadzean, who has a year left on his contract, turned down an offer to leave the club in January.

As one of Reds’ best players along with fellow centre-half Joe Walsh, offers have been expected for the pair, and the recent signing of defender Sonny Bradley has led to talk of Reds allowing one of them to leave.
