Matt Tubbs: Reds can still reach the play-offs
Matt Tubbs believes it’s still possible for Reds to follow in the footsteps of his parent club Bournemouth last year and land promotion.
Tubbs was part of the Cherries side who overcame a mixed first half of the season to gain automatic promotion to the Championship.
And after coolly netting the winner from the spot against Peterborough on Saturday, he said: “Last season at Bournemouth we were struggling I think five places from bottom and then Eddie Howe took over and we were a minute away from being champions so things like that can happen.
“All you need is a good run of games and if we keep winning and drawing and keeping clean sheets then who knows where we’ll be at the end of the season.”
With John Gregory keen to sign the prolific striker when his loan deal ends in May, Tubbs was coy on his future. He did though admit his ‘face fits’ at Crawley and said money would not be a factor if the decision to stay is his.
“I just want to play and score goals wherever I am, whether that’s here or at Bournemouth, that’s what I was brought here to do and hopefully I can do that between now and the end of the season,” he added.
