Nicky Adams leaves Crawley Town for Rotherham United

The deal is yet to be confirmed by either club but sources in the north indicate it was completed earlier today (Friday, January 31).

Adams, 27, nearly joined the Millers in November 2013 before the move fell through and the player is out of contract in the summer.

The winger played for Crawley in a 2-2 draw at Rotherham last Saturday and impressed Steve Evans, the former Reds and now Millers manager, enough to come back in for a player considered key at the Broadfield.

Adams, whose young family live in Bolton in the North West, joined Reds from Rochdale on a free transfer in June 2012.

The versatile attacking midfielder can play on either flank, and scored nine goals in 62 Reds appearances, helping them finish tenth in their first season in League One.

Crawley have today (Friday, January 31) also lost Gary Alexander, who has joined Burton Albion.

They have made two bids to sign Lee Gregory from Halifax as his replacement ahead of the end of the transfer window at 11pm tonight.
