His past has been heavily involved with youth, under-21 and academy coaching at his former clubs and it is something he wants to emulate at Reds along with owner Ziya Eren.

Drummy said: “There have been some good managers here and some big names with Dean Saunders and John Gregory. I think with my background and with the areas I have worked in and with the areas I want to develop, maybe I convinced the president and his team that I was the right man.

“I think he wants to have a way of playing and certainly the areas I have worked in have been credible and also we want to bring in players and develop them.

“I also get the local players coming through and get one player in from the local teams as well.

“We want to go up the leagues, do a bit of developing and philosophy, it’s going to be a big task to get all of them together.

“I have a budget to work with, but it’s the players that we want to bring in. We want to get an infrastructure in the club, we want to get a training ground and in the future get an academy so we get the local talent coming through.

“The budget will be adjusted accordingly I guess. That’s not the main concern at the moment, they have assured me there are funds there to hopefully bring in an elite talent very soon - you’ll have to wait and listen for that.

“All the dealings I have with the owner have been very sincere. Academies take a long time, but that will be the remit for the owners and myself to take on.

“The now is these two games on the pitch and hopefully give the fans some view of where we are going. Then next year we will come out with some signings, a philosophy, a way of playing and we have to prove ourselves.”
