The former Leeds United and Plymouth Argyle midfielder was told by the new Reds boss that he wasn’t in his plans at the club last month.

The 28-year-old, who made 39 appearances and scored four times last season, still has a year to run on his contract at the Checktrade Stadium.

Drummy had told Walton he could leave if he found a new club, but has now said, as with any player, he would ‘never say never’ to someone changing his mind.

On if the player had spoken to any clubs, Drummy said: “I don’t know if I am honest, he has been away on holiday. We will see where he is when he comes back.

“I would actually say that anyone who comes in the door that starts training and my mind changes, then it changes.

“It is there to be changed. I am not obstinate enough to say never say never, so let’s see.

“If people come back and want to be part of Crawley that is very important to me. If they want to be part of Crawley and try and work hard and change my opinion, then opinions are there to be changed.”
