Nichols scored in the 17th and 79th minutes to hand the Reds a 2-1 win at second-placed Forest Green Rovers.

George Francomb was back in the starting line-up while top scorer and man-of-the-moment Max Watters did not make the squad.

Jake Hessenthaler played in Nichols who remained composed before placing it into the bottom right corner.

But the lead only lasted six minutes into the second half when Jake Young scored with a brilliant 25-yard free-kick.

However it was Nichols who gave the Reds the lead again with 11 minutes to go. The club tweeted: "NICOOOOO!!! What a pass from Powell as Nichols chests it down, sorts his feet before sliding the ball into the corner. What a player he is..."

The win means they have picked up four points from League Two's top two sides in four days. Reds are now unbeaten in eight games in all competitions and have not lost in five away trips.
