The 45-year-old was brought in at Hawks by previous manager Andy Woodman as his assistant at the start of the year.

He had previously spent 11 months as number two to Mark Yates at League Two outfit Crawley; leaving before the end of the 2015/16 campaign despite securing league safety.

The former Brentford trainee previously assisted ex-Spurs defender Justin Edinburgh at then-Conference side Newport County, before a short spell when he himself took over as The Exiles boss.

Speaking on the Whitehawk website, Dack said: “I would like to thank John, Chris, Ned and Ted (Whitehawk FC owners) and Nigel Thornton (Chairman) for the opportunity to manage Whitehawk.

“I see huge potential to grow the club, expand the academy and also to bring the club into the community. From speaking to the owners, they have a massive desire to take the club forwards into a new stadium and to also build more links within our community.”

Dack’s non-league football career saw him play for Aldershot Town, Sutton United and Farnborough and coach at Stevenage, Welling United and Woking.

The new boss added: “We’re looking to bring more locally based players to the club, players that want to be at the club for footballing reasons. We will also try as a club to work towards a more sustainable future.”
