The striker missed out on Saturday’s 1-1 draw with second-placed Plymouth Argyle after suffering an injury in training last week.

The 31-year-old 6ft 1in centre forward, who has netted six times this term, was ruled out after feeling a twinge in his leg when over stretching.

But Reds boss Mark Yates and the player himself both have hopes he will return this weekend for their trip to Leyton Orient.

Yates said: “Hopefully not too bad. He just over stretched and felt something in the back of his leg.

“He is hoping he is back for Orient away. So hopefully he is, but Saturday (Plymouth), was just a couple of days too soon.”
