Posting on the CRAWLEY TOWN 4 LIFE Facebook page, Dan Hyre said: “I’ve got a lot of faith that if we keep our talent next season and build like we have done in previous seasons. We’ll be up there I have no doubt.”

Paul McMahon added: “Keep a core of our squad and improve our away performances and I have a feeling Yems and the boys will be pushing up that table next season. In Yems we trust.”

Scott John Sollis posted: “If we can keep most of the squad next season and with a few new addition ie right back etc I believe a top 10 finish or maybe play offs is achievable.”

One stumbling block is there are quite a few players out of contract on June 30 and as previously reported, it is still not known what the budget will be for Yems to build his squad for the 2020/21 season.

On the same thread on the Facebook page, Simon Smith said: “It has been suggested there will be 1500 unemployed footballers come 1st July. Hard reality, but on the positive side there will be chances to upgrade the squad.”

Matt Putland replied: “True but I’m assuming that any player signed on a free in July has to be paid I.e can’t be furloughed. As such how many clubs will be willing/financially able to contract new players they have to pay, until they have a guarantee of income for next season in the form of match day revenue which still makes a big portion of club revenue in league 2?”
