The current Wick manager was unveiled as the new man to lead the Lions on Sunday night but will still take charge of Wick’s Division 2 Cup final against Worthing United on May 4.

Tucker will take over from current Pagham boss Gary Block, who will move into a director of football role for the new season.

After leading Wick to promotion from Division 2, Tucker admitted the Pagham job was one he could not turn down.

He said: “I played for Pagham in my playing career and live close to the ground.

“They achieved a third-placed finish in the County League this season and are a magnificent club.

“If you look at their squad at the moment, it’s so strong.

“It also has close links with Bognor, so that is something that can be built on.”

Tucker, who has only been in management for four seasons, knows that he will face a tricky test in charge of the Lions.

He added: “I’ve not been in management for long and this is such a great opportunity.

“They have a small budget to play with and it’s something I’m really looking forward to.

“I would like to thank everyone at Wick for all of their help and support and I wish them all the best.”
