Crawley Town boss John Yems hoping for Leeds United help from FA Cup tie

Leeds are heading to League Two side Crawley in the FA Cup third round for Sunday's 1.30pm kick-off which is being screened live on the BBC.

Yems admits that in the current climate, sides will not receive the same amount of money as they used to without crowds but the Crawley boss hopes United can still help his side by sharing some of their revenue generated by the game.

Yems made the plea at Thursday's pre-match press conference after his side had come through testing for Covid-19.

"It's tested, everybody is done and I think our physio quite enjoys it," said Yems.

"I think he's got a bit of a sadist side.

"But it is what it is, I think they are trying to do it once a week now and we have had them done before.

"It's funny because the Premier League boys, I think they are getting them done twice a week now I think.

"It seems funny that the FA Cup has come around and it's all hands to the pump now because we have got a Premier League side.

"I just hope Leeds donate their money back to us which would be a very good gesture so we can start paying for a few things.

"Premier League sides, you wouldn't get as much as you would normally do because of the no crowd.

"But in the current climate with big clubs it would be nice if some clubs might donate a little bit back to you like they used to in the old days.

"But who knows, you have just got to do what you have got to do and see where it takes you."
