Oakwood manager Mark Gilbert believes his side still played well enough to win an entertaining local derby against Crawley Down Gatwick.
His opponents ended up 3-2 winners but only through a remarkable last-gasp strike by former Oaks player Sam Cane.
Gilbert said: “We have lost the last seven league and cup games and can’t buy a win at the moment.
“Confidence is low but we had enough chances to win the game. Sam Cane’s scored a wondergoal in the 88th minute.
“Fair play to Crawley Down who kept on going until. They are a good team.”
The game was played out in superb conditions at Tinsley Lane which have been improved by the Crawley Town lending the Oaks some equipment.
