He has called for his side to work hard, get their defending right and to make an impact on the game in front of a large home crowd.

Yates said: “They are on a good run at the moment, four wins on the spin.

“They’ll be going in there full of confidence that little old Crawley Town are going there to Kenilworth Road and everyone will just expect a home win.

“Well we’ve got to go and put a spanner in the works, we’ve got to go and impose ourselves on the game, defend properly, work hard as a team and if we can do that then we have a chance of getting something out of the game.

“It’s going to be tough, we know that. They’ve got threats, they’ve plenty of good players, they’ve got a massive squad.

“And hopefully we can go there and do ourselves justice.”

Mark Yates wants to finish the season strongly to send the club’s new owners into the summer on a high.

With 11 games to go, he does not believe midtable Reds can reach the Play-offs but wants to steer well clear of the relegation zone.

Yates said: “We’ve got 33 points to play for, as many points as we can.

“Ever since I walked into the club I’ve always been a realist and don’t think we are going to get into the Play-offs.

“I want to make sure we don’t get sucked into that bottom bit. But I think we’re better than that.

“And it’s just about us now finishing the season properly, getting as many points as we can and finish the season on a high, take the new regime into a positive summer and build from there.”
