Memories of Howe
The club were saddended to hear two former players had recently passed away - Ray Carter and John Howe.
Richard Neil sent us his memories of John Howe.
He said: “John set up the Reserves team in the John Maggs/Brian Sparrow Town Mead first team years. Under his guidance they won the Sussex Intermediate Cup I think it was 92/93 but I might be wrong.
“At the time I was press officer and also Reserves secretary.

Hide Ad“The team started in the Sussex County League Reserve Section and then moved into the Suburban League. My memories of John were of someone who enjoyed his football and he got everyone involved. Lovely guy and a lovely family.”
