Brighton face two games at The Amex in as many weeks, with Birmingham City and Charlton the visitors on the next two Saturdays.

The Seagulls have made an impressive start at home this term, picking up six victories and two draws in their opening eight games.

They currently sit second in the Championship, behind leaders Hull on goal difference.

Murphy feels the upcoming home matches give Albion a great chance to pick up a good points return and said: “You always want to win your home games.

“Whether you are at the top or bottom that doesn’t change. Home games are almost always must-win, so we’ll be giving everything we have to try to win both matches.

“But we know it’s going to be tough, there are no easy games in this league and we are going to have our work cut out.

“All of the squad are excited by these next couple of home games. Every home game always excites any player, having the crowd behind you and going all out for the win, so we are looking forward to it.”

Murphy joined Albion in August for an undisclosed fee from League One Sheffield United.

The winger, who began his career at Motherwell in the Scottish Premier League, notched 12 times for The Blades last term.

Since his arrival, Murphy has made ten appearances and found the net three times, with one of those coming in Albion’s last home match against Milton Keynes Dons.

He feels he has made a positive impact on the side so far but feels there is still a lot of room for improvement.

He added: “I think I’ve made a positive impact since coming to the club. I’ve managed to net a couple of goals and been involved in games, so I’m loving it here so far.

“The staff and players are great and so is the training ground but I feel I can always learn more.

“I don’t think there is anything I could say I’m perfect at, so it’s about working hard and improving.”
