Nutley and DCK Copthorne win cup finals

Last week saw two Gray Hooper Holt LLP Mid Sussex Football League cup finals completed, both played at Three Bridges.

Tuesday saw Nutley, courtesy of goals from Darren Carr, Oli Farmer and Scott Lacon comfortably defeat East Grinstead United II 3-0 to secure the Somerville Cup with Nutley’s Oli Farmer adjudged man-of the match.

And on Friday Crawley based DCK Copthorne followed up their 2013 Somerville Cup success to take the higher ranked Stubbins Cup at the hands of Ansty Sports & Social with a 4-1 scoreline. DCK’s goalscorers were Oliver Monnery (2), Matthew Burroughs and Matthew Gates and Oliver Monnery gained the man-of-the match award.

Next week the League’s cup action moves to The Beacon, Hassocks when on Tuesday (8 April) Cuckfield Rangers III meet AFC Ringmer II in the final of the Tester Cup kick off 7.30 pm. All is set for a close encounter between two sides that both play in Division 9 - AFC are currently holding a promotion spot while their opponents will move close to them if winning all three matches they have in hand
