Palmer was offered a new contact by Crawley after the 2019/20 League Two season was curtailed by the coronavirus pandemic.

However, head coach John Yems revealed in July that the club was struggling to tie down the striker, whose 14 goals made him the Reds' top scorer last season.

According to the Football Insider, Palmer is set to move to League One outfit AFC Wimbledon.

In an Instagram post this afternoon (Thursday, August 6), the 28-year-old confirmed his decision to move on after two years with the club.

He wrote: "Thank you @officialcrawleytownfc for the unforgettable memories made over the last two seasons.

"I’m now looking forward to my new challenge but first I needed to say a massive thank you to my team mates, coaches, all the staff around the club and of course the fans who been unbelievable to me since the start.
