Jupp said: “Last season was excellent, my best ever after 13 years with Horley Town. To finish sixth was fantastic. A lot of people had us as favourites to be one of the teams getting relegated but we certainly proved them wrong.

“The young group of local players that we have believe in what we as a club are heading and working towards which is excellent. Their attitude throughout the whole season was superb and the football at times was exceptional. Now we must push on even higher next season and, as far as I know, with the exception of Ashley Nadesan, obviously, all of our players will be staying with us again.”

Prolific scorer Nadesan, 21, returned to the club specially following his recent dream move to League One side Fleetwood Town, signing a three-year deal for an undisclosed fee, to present The Clarets with a signed shirt from The Highbury Stadium outfit, showing his appreciation to Horley’s players and staff for their unstinting support.

Jupp paid tribute to many people, including youth team manager Paul Garrett and his assistant Pete Philips “who have been improving every week with a very young squad going into next season.”

He also saluted joint second-string bosses Barry Mountain and Tom Winsor “for keeping the Reserves ticking over with a lot of those players stepping into the first team when required.”

Jupp also brought his first team management team of coaches Chris Weller and Matt Chapman, goalkeeping coach Alan Rogers and physiotherapist Gail Selby, to the front of the audience to take their well deserved acclaim, hailing them as “fantastic.” He also singled out chairman Mark Sale and club committee “who have always supported and backed us all season.” In addition, Jupp saluted the club’s loyal supporters whom he also hailed as “fantastic.”
