Reds players won't be distracted by club sale

Crawley Town players will continue to do their jobs on the pitch during the ongoing club sale, according to Jon Ashton.

News broke last weekend that Reds were in advanced talks with potential new owners - believed to be a consortium from overseas - and the club was close to being sold.

But with plenty of off-the-field headlines, Ashton and the players will not be getting involved or distracted.

The Crawley defender believes that any effect of a sale of the club will only be a positive things.

He said: “We are trying not to think about it really. Whatever happens, happens. We just have to look after ourselves as a team and look to prepare for the next game and get three points.

“If it happens and affects us, then I am sure it will be in a positive way, but at the moment we will look at the next game and prepare for that.

“We’ll leave all of that stuff to the people that make the decisions.

“I have been in the situation before where there have been on off the pitch about who owns the club and things, but the players do not really think about it.”
