Golds will play just two of their remaining nine league matches at The Sportsfield but Bennett is not concerned by the amount of away games.

He said: “We face a run of four straight away matches and only two of our remaining nine are at home.

“I feel playing away games gives the players something else to think about.

“It’s a surrounding that they are not used to and it keeps them all on their toes.

“It’s never easy when you play away from home but I’m sure that will not have any effect on where we end up finishing.”

The Golds remain two points off leaders Dorking Wanderers at the top of County League Division 1, but they have two games in hand. Littlehampton romped to a 4-0 home success over Chichester City on Saturday, while Wanderers secured a 1-0 home success over Loxwood.

Bennett is just taking each game as it comes now and said: “We have nine games left but we are only looking at what is next. We face Hassocks on Saturday and we will not look any further than that.”
