Jordan Maguire-Drew and James Tilley came in for Tarryn Allarakhia and Ashley Nadesan, while Jordan Tunnicliffe returned to the bench after his injury lay-off.

Crawley carved out a couple of chances in the first half through Maguire-Drew.

Neat bulid-up play down the left between Nick Tsaroulla and Jake Hessenthaler saw the ball crossed into the box, but Maguire-Drew couldn't direct his header goalwards.

The winger then volleyed over after good work from Joe McNerney to head the ball back into the area.

The second half began with Josh Wright smashing an effort against a Scunthorpe defender in the box. Shouts went up for handball but referee Andy Haines was unmoved.

Sam Matthews came on for Maguire-Drew just after the hour-mark as the Reds looked to kick into gear.

Tenacious play from Tom Nichols saw the forward keep the ball alive before Jack Powell blasted over.

Tony Craig then pulled off a superb sliding tackle to prevent Scunthorpe danger man Ryan Loft from bursting into the box.

Crawley mustered three late half-chances, through Tilley, Powell and Matthews, but ultimately couldn't break the deadlock.
