Watters won the Sky Bet League Two Player of the Month award for December in a red shirt.

His move means he has risen from League Two to the Championship in just three months.

Technical Director Erdem Konyar said, “We thank Max for the memorable performances he has given for this football club. The deal is a significant element to the financial survival and navigation of this football club. Crawley Town is on the right track and this has to be a catalyst to the philosophy and structure that we are building.

“We must remember the work of John Yems and Lee Bradbury in not only identifying the player, but also the evident successful coaching and development of Max in such a short period.”

Crawley Town added: "Everyone at the club wishes Max all the best at Cardiff and we thank him for his service to Crawley Town FC. Max Watters will be a name that will live in Reds history.
