Crawley Down Gatwick 2

Crawley Down Gatwick took the lead on 29 minutes when a corner taken by Hass Shurmahi found Luke Trotter rising to the occasion to nod home the Anvils’ opener.

Luke Trotter then had what looked a perfectly good goal disallowed, having outmuscled the Storrington centre back before executing a deft lob over goalkeeper Garry Elliot, only for the referee to blow the whistle for a supposed foul on the home side’s defender.

On 39 minutes came the deserved second goal with some neat inter-passing finding Ben Brooker in space inside the box and who wasted no time in hitting home the Anvil second as half-time approached.

In the last 10 minutes the Anvils twice had chances to increase their lead with a one-on-one situation with the Swans keeper, with the latter came out on top on both occasions.

Crawley Down Gatwick: Andy Greaves, Blair Cooney, Hass Shurmahi, Mike Spence (Tom Agate), Steve Dixon, James Day, Dave Houlders, Lee Thomas, Ben Brooker, Sam Cane (Oli Leslie), Luke Trotter (Harry Lowe)

Man of the Match: Hass Shurmahi
