Terry’s illustrious career has seen him take part in many aspects of the sport from scouting, training referees and also coaching football to a vast range of age groups.

The 75-year-old began his career in the mid 1960s and his initial satisfaction from coaching was the delight he brought to the children’s faces.

He said: “Well I suppose it’s great when a little boy or little girl will say they’ve enjoyed it.

“I have had parents say to me, ‘oh your still doing it’ which makes me feel old as I used to teach some of them.”
