Bridges were denied a win in the Emirates FA Cup Preliminary Round through good goalkeeping by Ceray Wanderers’ keeper Nick Blue.

At half-time Sam MacVicar came on and made all the difference as the formation was now 4-3-3 and chances were coming.”

Despite chances from the home side, Cray went ahead just before half-time with a goal by James Duckworth.

At half-time Sam MacVicar came on and it was all Three Bridges but they could just not put the finishing touches to some good build-up play.

Rain made the surface slippery causing the ball to go in all directions and difficult for both teams to settle.

Cray’s James Duckworth went on a left wing run and was only prevented from scoring from close range by the brilliance of the Bridges goalkeeper Kieron Thorp.

Andre McCollin and Leigh Bremner were also denied by Thorp who was having a good game.

McCollin found James Duckworth who went on a run and side-footed a shot past the outstretched arms of Thorp into the goal for what turned out to be the 40th minute winner.

At half-time Sam MacVicar came on and made all the difference as the formation was now 4-3-3 and chances were coming.

Shots and headers were coming from MacVicar but the Cray ‘keeper was up to the task.

Bridges continued to press and Lee Carney saw his shot cannon of the crossbar and away.

Tom Gannon came on and saw his header go just wide while Hakeem Adelakun had another long shot land on top of the goal.

Callum Donaghey now moved up front and had a chance for an equaliser and send the game into extra-time but the feet of the goalkeeper deflected the free-kick away.

Bridges never gave up trying but it is Cray who progressed to next round where they will play Chatham Town.
