Three Sussex clubs lobby FA to reconsider voiding season

Three Sussex teams have signed a collective letter lobbying for the FA to reconsider their decision to terminate the season for teams below step 3.

Worthing, Hastings United and Lancing, along with a group of 64 clubs in men's and women's football, have written to the FA expressing their displeasure in the ruling.

All football below National League level was terminated with immediate effect on Thursday (March 26) due to the coronavirus pandemic, with all results from the 2019-20 campaign expunged.

The ruling means there will be no promotion or relegation this season.

Worthing sat top of the BetVictor Isthmian Premier Division, while Hastings United and Lancing were at the summits of the BetVictor Isthmian South East and SCFL Premier Division respectively.
