The Reds loaned out Kwesi Appiah to Colchester United earlier on Transfer Deadline Day but have since added Tom Fellows on loan from West Bromwich Albion and now Caleb Chukwuemeka from Aston Villa on loan for the rest of the season.

The 20-year-old forward started his career at Northampton Town before joining Aston Villa for an undisclosed fee in 2021.

Speaking on Caleb’s move to the Reds, Kevin Betsy said: “Caleb is a player that I have known for some time. This is a real coup for the club, given the level of interest in his talents from a higher level. A versatile forward who can play anywhere across the front line.

"He will be a threat for us, and we look forward to welcoming him to the club. We thank Aston Villa for their support in this deal. It shows that we have the trust of some big Premier League clubs in their younger players.”
