The Brighton and Hove Albion loanee had to be stretchered off after a worrying looking injury just after half-time in the 6-5 victory in the FA Cup against Torquay United after a collision with Connor Lemonheigh-Evans.

The game stopped for 18 minute while he received treatment.

The club tweeted after the game: "We are currently awaiting an update on Tom McGill after he came off in the second-half. We will inform you all accordingly and send him all our prayers."

And followed that up at 6.26pm with this tweet: "Update: Tom McGill We have been informed that Tom has been discharged from hospital after suffering heavy concussion. We wish Tom all the best in his recovery."

Fans took to social media to wish McGill all the best. CTFC Nathan said: "Great news! Can't imagine how mad he thought everyone had gone when he first saw the final score. Get well soon @TomMcGill_1"

Pat Emery tweeted: "Oh thank goodness for that. All the best Tom. Take care.

Stuart Nelson, who was signed after Glenn Morris was injured last week, replaced McGill in goal.
