Walsall v Crawley Town preview: Can Reds beat the draw specialists?

Crawley manager Yems is wary of the challenge Walsall present, with Crawley losing to the Saddlers twice in the league last season: “It’s going to be a tough game, just looking forward to it really, they’re a good side, got a good manager, well organised, but we’ll go up there and do the best that we can."

Davies is pleased to now be getting some game time, but feels that his best is yet to come in a Crawley shirt: “I wouldn’t say I’ve had the best start, but I’ve showed when I come on that I can bring something to the team, in being an impact going forward and also being defensively solid so I want to get some more minutes under my belt."

Yems has been pleased with recent performances, and will be hoping the Reds can continue with that quality tonight: “You put heart and commitment into everything. If we get that when we’re hanging on in there we’ve always got a chance to win. That’s one thing we’ve got: spirit, desire, we’ve had it all season and it’s beginning to gel now, as soon as they put that shirt on everybody knows they’ve got to put a shift in.”

Crawley’s win over Cambridge took them up into the promotion playoff places, but Davies explains that Yems is keeping the dressing room focused: “It’s a long season. We’re not looking too far into that at the moment, we just want to pick up as many points as we can really.”

Yems also believes that there are no easy games in League Two, as the Reds’ go into tonight’s game in good spirit: “They’re all tough fixtures. We go over the morale and desire, it is very good, but with what we’ve got going on let’s hope it is at the end of tomorrow.”

Walsall vs Crawley kicks off at 7pm tonight.
