The Reds slumped to a 4-1 defeat at home as Crawley's winless run stretched to six games, having lost four of their last five matches.

Crawley now sit 14th in the table with a dire run of results putting an end to a possible end of season play-off push.

"They were the better team," stated Tunncliffe. "They played better football. Won more battles. It's very simple.

"We got to apologise to the fans cause we've let them down today. We were just too easy to beat all over the pitch."

Crawley fell apart towards the end of the first half as the visitors scored two in quick succession, before netting a third shortly after the break.

"We're still in the game at 2-0," said the Crawley Town centre-back. "Teams go 2-0 down and you can always come back from it and we believe we could. [But] the timing of the third goal killed us."

Late on, James Tilley netted a consolation goal - before Oldham scored a fourth in added-time to round-off an impressive performance from the visitors.

For Tunnicliffe, it's about looking ahead to the next fixture, with the Reds travelling to Southend United, who sit 23rd, on Saturday.

"We can't dwell on the past", explained Tunnicliffe. "We've got to move forward and put things right on Saturday.

"There's goals in our team and we will never throw the towel in. I believe in us. I think we will put things right this week [and] I will guarantee we will try our best.

"We are disappointed with the position we are [compared to where we were] three or four weeks ago.

"We have had brilliant points this season. There's [eight] games to go. We will just focus on the next game ahead and try to get the three points."
