But Enzio Boldewijn, who had earlier seen an effort blocked on the line by Conor Coady, headed the equaliser for visitors Crawley from Jimmy Smith’s corner in the 13th minute.

Coady secured the win in the 76th minute before Connolly was shown a red card in the 89th minute.

Mason put the hosts in the lead in the sixth minute who put away on the rebound after Jed Wallace hit the post.

But Reds responded brilliantly when Jason Roberts’ corner was headed home in the 12th minute by Boldewijn.

Both sides had chances to score, with Wolves keeper Andy Lonergan denying substitute Adi Yussuf, who was making his Reds debut coming on for the injured Jason Roberts.

For Wolves, Joao Teixeira twice scuffed shots over the bar.

Crawley had plenty of the attack in the second half as Yussuf set up Boldewijn and Smith in separate chances, but both finished over the bar.

Mark Connolly blasted a shot wide and at the other end, the central defender made a valuable block on on the line.

Wolves scored the winner in the 76th minute when a free-kick was headed backwards by Jon Dadi Bodvarsson to Conor Coady who headed in from close-range.
