Mark Yates has promised changes to his Crawley Town side against Newport County after Saturday’s shocking display.

The Reds boss was left fuming as his side went down with a whimper against Leyton Orient at the Matchroom Stadium on Saturday.

He felt the whole team performance fell short of what was expected and that none of his players took any responsibility.

Crawley now have a quick opportunity to put that display right with the visit of County on Tuesday evening.

Yates said: “I think it was down to our lack of desire and pride in our performance as it was too easy to get beat.

“I thought we gave the ball away, we didn’t get up and support our strikers, our strikers didn’t keep the ball. Balls put to them were in no-man’s land, put to them down their throat to their head.

“Midfield players for me didn’t get anywhere near them to support them and we didn’t take responsibility, that was a big thing with and without the ball.

“It was a great strike for the first goal, but how did he turn? We had him with his back to goal 30 yards out, he has hit one with perhaps his weaker foot and that summed up our performance.

“I don’t know about a reality check, but we need to get back to being us. I have got to look at myself and see if I picked the right team, I’m pretty sure that won’t be the team that starts on Tuesday night.”
