The former Ipswich Town player said: “I couldn’t believe it to be honest with you, Gaffer (Dermot Drummy) has given me the nod in the centre of midfield and I’ve gone on it was there to be shot with my left foot, but I preferred to cut in on my preferred right foot, I into the bottom corner and it’s gone in.”

Yorwerth, who played last season as a defender, said he is happy to play in his new midfield role.

“Wherever the Gaffer wants me to play, I will play.

“In training I’ve been playing there in the last couple of weeks and I do enjoy playing there, I get a lot more of the ball and there are more chances to score.

“First half we couldn’t really get going; they were the better side.

“But we showed good courage to stay in the game, they had chance after chance, we defended really well as a unit and stayed at 0-0.

“It was brilliant to get a goal but the main thing was we took a clean sheet, the three points and an away win and that’s massive for us, three games in to be on seven points.”
