Frankland encouraged by Horsham resilience

Tony Nwachukwu’s goal cancelled out a Jack Harris opener as the match finished 1-1.

Frankland said: “Faversham are a good side, and we controlled the game after the first ten minutes.

“I think our lack of match practice showed towards the end of the game, but it is an encouraging performance to take into next week.”

The former Horsham keeper also expressed his frustration at the Hornets’ shaky start to the game.

He said: “It’s frustrating because you get the boys geed up and ready to go, and then that happens after two minutes and you think ‘here we go again!’

“We have to stop conceding sloppy goals, we conceded two sloppy goals at Chipstead, two at Worthing and another one tonight. We have got to get that out of our system.”

On Horsham FC website Hornets Review, Frankland called Horsham’s new signing, goalkeeper Mark Zawadski, ‘the best in non-league’ - and Frankland said he stood by those comments after Zawadski’s second Horsham debut.

Praising Zawadski’s kicking, communication and command, Frankland added: “Some keepers make saves that they should make, Mark makes saves that you wouldn’t expect a keeper to make.”
