GOLDS GRAB A POINT

A GOAL in the second minute of injury-time at High Street robbed 10-man Littlehampton of their first win of the season on Tuesday, when Selsey's Matt Stillman squeezed the ball home at the far post.

Chris Hazell had set up the opportunity for an unlikely three points with a smashing header from Ryan Gaylor's corner 18 minutes from time his first goal for the club in three seasons of trying.

But the rearguard had to be redoubled 10 minutes later when Jan Miller was shown his second yellow card of the game and therefore a red by Midhurst referee Martin Hollands, although the officials missed a blatant retaliatory thump on Miller after his second late tackle.

Selsey, however, are generally acknowledged as the sort of side who take no prisoners, and for Carl Stabler's team who were based on youth to match them on a bitter evening, should give cause for both credit and optimism.
