GOLF: WHAT A PAIN OF A WAIT

WORTHING pro Stephen Rolley is hoping to bring an end to five years of pain when he tees up in the £200,000 PGA Seniors Championship this week.

The 55-year-old, who has been pro at Worthing for 19 years, has missed three of the past five years through a reoccurring wrist injury and a bout of shingles.

But this season he has managed to shake off the injury shackles and produced some fine performances, and will line up alongside the likes of Sam Torrance and Costantino Rocca at Suffolk's Stoke by Nayland Club in the European Seniors Tour's oldest event.

"It's been a frustrating few years as I've not been able to play very much, and when you get to my age there aren't many tournaments to play in, so missing them through injury has been annoying," he said.
