LOPEZ LEAVES LANCING FOR HORSHAM

WESLEY LOPEZ has finally dual signed for Ryman League first-division Horsham. The ex-Worthing talent, all season in the Lancing shop window, will be second-call for Lancing until the end of the season.

Lancers boss Mark Cox commented: "He and us have done each other a favour this season. We're delighted he's moved up rather than sideways and he has assured me he'll dual sign for us againt next season if Horsham allow him.

"He's in my squad to play at Shoreham on Monday. They're a really well-organised side and they could give us a torrid time but we'll be giving it a go. They, Wick and Wealden are the best sides in the division."

Lancing will be without the unavailable Andrew Crush and the injured Phil Reid but striker James Hannah returns to the mix and, longer term, forward Richard Lester's comeback could be imminent after the abatement of a possibly career-ending thigh injury scare.

Saturday's Culver Road clash could have gone either way. Cox said: "Seaford are not fifth for nothing and we had a proper test in how well we might expect to do next season. We did well.

"Rob Partridge lobbed us ahead from Adam Burton's through pass (7min], Seaford had a good spell and went 2-1 up but Adam chased a lost cause and again worried the defenders into handing him a gift equaliser (65min]. He's always sniffing around, causing problems, and they often get into a muddle. He must be responsible for most of the What Happened Next? quiz sequences in this division."

LANCING: Everett; Dixon, Reilly, Crush, Ettridge; Rhodie, Martin, MacDonald, Lopez; Partridge, Burton. Subs: Washington (Partridge 75), Wright, White. Seaford Scorers: Chris Stanyard 19, Plaistow 45. Att: 48.

Crowborough are promoted.
