St Francis bounced back with a well fought win scoring four tries to three on the pristine pitch at Chichester.
Chichester struck first, minutes from the kick-off, using their pace and indiSaints eventually worked their way back into the Chi half, forward pressure resulting in a try which was disallowed.
The Saints pack barrelled over to score following a srum. The missed conversion left the score at 5-5
A typically barnstorming run from captain Tom Bruce put Saints in the lead. Bruce converted his own try.
The Bruce toe-punt was again employed for a penalty to bring the score to 5-15.
Chichester replied in the second half with a well taken try. Relentless pressure on the line eventually breaking through the staunch defence.
Saints’ backs and forwards eventually produced an excellent team try for the left wing.
This was swiftly followed by a try for lock Mark Devlin, the conversion bringing the score to 10-27.
Chichester fought back with another well executed try and continued to threaten until the final whistle.
