Crawley AC clinched a historic treble when they won three medals at the English Schools Championships.
Orla Brothers won the inter girls’ 300m in a new club record of 39.59s, Munroe Ritchie won the senior boys’ hammer with a personal best of 59.54m and Natasha Purchas gained silver in the junior girls’ pole vault, equalling her PB with 3.15m. Crawley fielded 16 athletes at the championships.
Club chairman Dave Buckett praised: “I’m on cloud nine.
“This was our best performance for many years and amazingly our winners are at the bottom of their age-groups! The team gelled really well - we supplied 14 out of 59 members of the Sussex team.” Other results: Joe Massimo (Surrey) 5th inter-boys 200m 22.33s (22.01s in semi-final), Jamie Kealey 6th jun boys 300m 38.51s, Tom Pitts 5th in heat on jun boys 80m hurdles 11,67s (PB), Lauren Lethbridge junior girls long jump (4.74m), Tamsin Campbell 6th inter-girls pole vault (3.35m, Lillie Franks 4th inter-girls high jump (1.69m), Vicky Pellett club record inter girls hammer 10th (51.18m), Lotte Hoare club record senior girls hammer (48.86m), Marcus Jones 8th junior boys hammer (42.66m (PB). Harrison Leach 4th junior boys discus (39.48m).
