Crawley karate kids impress at British Championship

Crawley Kyokushinkai Karate Club have had a fantastic end to the year with several students picking up trophies at both the British Championships and at the European Open in the last few weeks.

The British Clicker event in Slough saw Aaron Phillips aged eight, Robert Salvi aged 13 and Evgneiy Kokoshin (adult) take second place in their respective categories.

They also picked up third place with Olivia Pickthall,

Bethany Bastos and the low grade girls’ team (Olivia, Bethany, Bethany Salvi and Madison Sproston).

On the international stage Crawley had to fighters represent GB in the European Full Contact Championships in Bulgaria.

20-year-old Dawid Ozga took third place in the men’s lightweight and Darren Chan made quarter finals in the middleweight.

The club will be starting up new Pee Wee classes in January plus our normal training schedule.
