Crawley Lightning maintained their unbeaten start in the BasketballSUSSEX Women's Division with a 56-33 away victory at Sussex Bears on Monday.

The hard-fought win sees them sit third in the division on six points, although they have played two games less than table-topping Bognor Amazons.

True to their name, the Bears defended their ground fiercely making for a fast-paced game with plenty of scrambles. However the Crawley women stayed the course, increasing their lead each quarter.

Patience and teamwork kept Lightning in front and they held off the attacks of their aggressors resulting in a 56-33 win. Lightning were lead by Brogan Webber and Millie Lea-Clayton who racked up ten points each for the team.

Lightning's will be hoping to continue their 100 per cent winning start as they host Worthing D&D Dragons on Monday evening. Tip-off will take place at 8:15pm at Holy Trinity School, Gossops Green.
