The Sussex squad begin the 2016 season at their Arlington Stadium with a challenge match against the Kent Kings.

There’s a chocolate treat for the first 100 children through the gates on Friday morning (gates open at 10.30am).

Monster Flat Pack Furniture has sponsored the Easter eggs which will be handed out by special guest and last year’s treble winning captain, Marc Owen.

In 2015 the Eagles secured total domination against their cross-border rivals but both teams come to tapes with big changes to their line-ups.

Eastbourne club chairman, Martin Dugard, said, “We have some experienced riders in our team who are itching to get started and show the fans what they can do.

“Like many clubs in this year’s National League we have very inexperienced reserves, just as we did last year.

“For us, that was a huge success as Kelsey Dugard upped his average and Georgie Wood became a first-year star.

“We hope Charley Powell and Nick Phillips can step up and score vital points for us.”

Dugard promised supporters another season of exciting racing and great entertainment.

“Our debut year in the National League was brilliant but we couldn’t catch Birmingham so missed out on the league title.

“We aim to put that right in 2016 and I promise everyone Eastbourne will give it their all to land the 2016 title,” he said.

As well as Powell and Phillips, other newcomers into the Eastbourne team are Jake Knight and No 1 Kyle Hughes.

Returning from last year are Wood, Richie Andrews, who is captain, and Ben Hopwood.

Kent are much changed with Eastbourne-based David Mason returning to the club after a year at Arlington.

Good Friday’s match begins at Eastbourne at noon with the return at 6.30pm at Kent’s Central Park Stadium in Sittingbourne.
